One of the most asked questions around here is “What should I bring with me to my session?” This topic blew up over on Insta this spring, so I knew it had to make its way to the blog!
At SJP, we want to take your senior shoot to the next level and capture this milestone in the most authentic way. Aiming for authentic and personal images that truly reflect your personality! It’s my hope that your session always feels like YOU and that’s why it’s my goal (and joy!) to help you prepare for your session so that you have the best time ever taking your senior pics.
Drumroll please… Here’s a list of the essentials to bring to your senior photo session:
Someone to help out
Having a helper like your momma or your BFF will help things go by so much quicker & will help you have even more fun! They can help with all the things. Grabbing your outfits, holding your things, help with changing, making sure you arrive on time, taking BTS clips, and more.
Hair brush & products
This will help with any hairs not wanting to stay in place and strap those baby hairs into place. Sometimes it might get windy!
Walking shoes
A lot of locations require us to walk, so bringing a pair of walking shoes or comfy shoes makes it so much easier to get to our locations. Then you can change into your heels or sandals when we’re ready to start shooting!
Extra outfit
We plan your outfits during your style consult a week or two before your session, but it never hurts to bring an extra outfit or extra outfit options! Bringing an extra outfit is always a good idea just in case your original doesn’t fit, you spill something on it, or just don’t like the look of it anymore. We LOVE having options here at SJP!!
Snacks & water
Senior sessions are a bit of a workout – we walk and move around A LOT! Snacks and water never hurt to have on-hand. I always pack snacks and extra water as well to make sure you’re staying hydrated during our time together!!
Positive attitude
This is a big one! Showing up in a happy mood, excited & hyped for your senior photos will make things so easy, relaxed, fun, and TRUE TO YOU. Try not to plan anything else on your session date, so you can only focus on your shoot!!
Remember to SAVE THIS BLOG POST for what to bring to your senior session. Promise it’ll be a game-changer to look back on when you are getting ready for your session!
