Prom Ready Dress, Hair, and Make-up Tips

Need help finding your dress? Hairstyle? Deciding on makeup? Here are some of my tips to help take the STRESS out of prom season.

Dress

If you still haven’t found the perfect prom dress, here are a few places I know about that have a great selection of dresses.

Bliss Bridal

Peaches

Pink Slip Boutique

And for those that are savy with their pennies I often find amazing finds at Sequels. It is a gem of a resale store that I end up on a weekly basis!

Pro-Tip: If your dress is a little loose in places, you still have time to get it altered. Check with the store you purchase your dress from to see if they offer alteration services.

Hair

Let me be honest with you; I am that girl that wants a bodacious HUGE hair style that has locks flowing all over the place. But, when I walk in the salon and show a picture of the style I want, even the most amazing stylist in the world will probably laugh at me. I have, like, 7 strands of hair. So thin.

SO, my tip for all of you ladies is, be REALISTIC of what your hair does! Pick a hair style that will work for you. Make an inspiration board for your stylist and have a plan.

Pro-tip: If you need someone to do your hair, I’d like to recommend Rumors Salon and Day Spa. Check out their Facebook page HERE.

Make-Up

Everyone has their own make-up style. Prom is a fun opportunity to try something new, or stick to whatever will make you feel the most confident for your special night. But be sure to use the color and style of your dress as a guide to selecting your make-up.

Pro-Tip: If you are looking for some more make-up tips check out this list of 50 Best Prom Beauty Tips from Seventeen Magazine.

Bonus: Ready for your close-up?

Once prom night arrives you’ll be ready to have fun and take a lot of pictures! So, can I ask: Do you know your side?

I often ask all my seniors what “side” they like to be photographed on. If you aren’t sure what your side is, I recommend turning right. It has been said that most people say “left” is their go to side!

For now my dears, hope the planning is going well. If you have any questions for us give us a shout or leave us a comment!
